FALLING LEAVES!

Leaves may be falling in your area
In Savannah we are pretending
Sure that are a few, very few, leaves on the ground.
Most are still green and we don't have the vibrant colors that appear in the northern states.
Sooooooo!
Here is my interpretation of Falling Leaves

The candlestick was a thrift find HERE!
Nothing new was purchased for this tablescape.
You might say it was like raking leaves.
Pull together what is there and pile it up!

Charger-Walmart last year. Flatware-Horchow sale
Suede Leaf Mat-Big Lots (launders beautifully)
 Everyday Dinnerware-Kmart ages ago
Salad Plate-Walmart. Doilies-Dollar Tree
 Soup/Fruit Bowl-Walmart
 Napkins-Macy's clearance last year.
Napkin Rings-thrifted HERE!

Goblets-Dollar Tree last year

Natural Elements from the back porch.
This table is an Antique Pub/Inn table from England.
It is very narrow (they weren't interested in centerpieces back then) so, decorative elements have to be kept to a minimum and there is rarely room in the center of the table.
Leaf Dish-Old Time Pottery, Pinto Beans and Candle
already had.
The stack of books in the background
are waiting for just the right bookcase. I may have to build one.

Well I for one think you raked up a beautiful table! I love the place setting from start to finish. The leaf plate and bowl are my favorite part.

And my favorite part of the whole table is the centerpiece. That's so pretty!

Dearest Ginger,

Wow, you're all ready for Thanksgiving... We first have a wedding so I'm not yet ready for it. And by far I cannot compet with your table setting. My what a collection! Very fitting for the season. Have a happy pre-Thanksgiving lady and enjoy your hard work.
Love to you,

Mariette

You had some great "finds" to add to this table setting. The table is just beautiful with those dishes and all the accessories!

I bet one reason the tables were narrow back then was to make it easier to reach across the table to help themselves to someone else's plate Lol!

Thanks for joining my party!

I really like your interpretation of falling leaves, Ginger, but if you want the real deal I will HAPPILY send you one of the 23 bags of leaves the yard man collected from our yard JUST THIS WEEKEND ALONE!!! There are still a lot of leaves clinging on for dear life, so I'm sure he'll have lots more where those came from in the weeks ahead. Ugh! Your table, however, makes fallen leaves look wonderful! That antique table is cool. If it's at least 24" wide, though, you're golden. It's like having to build a centerpiece on a folding table: difficult, but not impossible...as you have so deftly demonstrated!
