Most Viewed Posts Of 2013

I have never published my most viewed posts before. This is probably not the best year to jump in as I haven't published a lot this year.
I do want to thank each of you who have been so
kind as to continue visiting and commenting even my posts were sporadic. I treasure the wonderful friendships I have made across the blogging world and I look forward to seeing what you are doing in the new year.

CAN YOU SOLVE THIS MYSTERY?

I definitely DO NOT believe in magic but this is too cool! It has to be in the computer coding but I can't explain it. Do any of you techno heads out there know how this works. I may have to call on my son or grandsons to explain this to Granny!

MY FRIEND IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND SENT THIS TO ME. I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. CAN YOU? TRY THIS OVER AND OVER USING DIFFERENT CARDS, IT WORKS EVERY TIME. MAYBE IT IS PROGRAMED TO KNOW THE LAST CARD YOU LOOKED AT…SPOOKY!

Christmas Thru A Child's Eyes

My eleven month granddaughter spies the Christmas Tree!

Makes you realize we all should view Christmas and the world in general, through the eyes of a child.
AJ, with her Mom and Dad spent Christmas Eve night with us and much of the day Christmas. What a blessing that was for us.

I hope you enjoyed Christmas with your loved ones…family and friends.

Sharing with these parties, won't you join us?

The Power Of A Tablecloth

A few years ago, Bob an I met a lovely couple from Glasgow Scotland. We were on a Trans Atlantic cruise and they were our dinner partners. We communicate with one another through email. Ian often sends me items of interest, either funny or profound. I want to share this one. Not sure but said to be true…either way it is a touching story.

 Beautiful story.... makes you understand that things happen for a reason
T
he brand new pastor and his wife, newly assigned
to their first ministry, to reopen a church
in suburban Brooklyn , arrived in early October
excited about their opportunities. When they saw
their church, it was very run down and needed
much work. They set a goal to have everything
done in time to have their first service
on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Trees Of Greenbrier

Do you remember when Kim and I visited
HERE
We were on our way
HERE
The beautiful Greenbrier Resort
White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
I know everyone is busy but I thought I would share the many
Christmas Trees of Greenbrier!
Holiday Eye Candy!
The Tree In The Grand Hall
This tree was in the main dining room.
Decorated with the signature china for Greenbrier
by Homer Laughlin from the design of Dorothy Draper.
Trees in the Grand Ballroom.
There was a golden tree in each corner.
It is beautiful reflected in the mirror.

The plaster ceiling was the only architectural feature
saved during the restoration after WW11.
The large mirror on the opposite wall reflects
me taking the picture.
Not a Christmas Tree but I had to show you the
original dance floor from 1923. Isn't it amazing.
You can see where the large doors to the garden
opened on rollers.
~~~~~~
The next three photos are the
"Dream Tree"
consisting of $1,000,000 in gifts for
needy children in the area.
 This lovely tree is in the Garden Room.
This tree and the one below are in the sitting room.
Don't you love that wall color.
There were other trees that I was unable to snap
or they didn't turn out well.
I hope you enjoyed this quick view of
"The Christmas Trees of Greenbrier"
In the weeks to come, I will share more of the resort and the decor that remains true to Dorothy Draper's original design.
Have a Blessed Christmas!
JOY TO THE WORLD
Clipart
It's been an unusual holiday season for us this year. We were traveling during the Thanksgiving season and didn't get home until the second week of December. Not a lot of time or energy to decorate but we are so thankful for a multitude of God's blessings…Kim has some relief from pain and a plan for the future, a precious new/only granddaughter, loving grandsons and children. Precious family and friends and blogging friends. Bob and I are still awaking in the morning and praising our Lord for another day.
Today's post was originally published in December 2010. I would like to share it with new and old friends as this is how I feel about
"THE REASON FOR THE SEASON"
OUR SAVIOR
CHRIST THE LORD
This is the season during which we,
as a testament to our faith, choose to
REJOICE AND
CELEBRATE HIS BIRTH
Seen Santa Lately?
HMPH!!
YOU HAVE…NO KIDDING?
Free Christmas Clipart  Christmas Scrapes.
On a recent visit to my daughter's home, we took a few days off…together, just the two of us!
On our way HERE, we stopped
HERE!
 I had never been to Santa's home town and found it interesting but less than impressive. Perhaps if there were snow on the ground it would have looked more like Santa's abode. However, there was shopping aplenty.
Not sure what was with the gravel. Perhaps it was supposed to look like snow.
Our first stop!
Hi, Santa. Oh, we can't go in that door? Betcha got those elves and toys in there. C'mon just a peek! Surely that's not a sweat shop!
 Rudolph is away…playing reindeer games.
Don't tarry too long, fellow! You have a big job coming up!
What a pretty entrance, a hint of what's to come.
AAH, sugar plums are dancing in my head!
Talk about a kid in a candy shop! We also had the greatest Iced Hot Chocolate! I know. I thought it couldn't be but it did taste exactly like Hot Chocolate! We craved another for days.
Do any of you have one of these "awards"?
You know, I was the model for this leggy lamp?
Am I the only one who thinks this machine is kinda creepy?
This has got to be the PEZ capital of the world.
A small sample of their selection.
More Santa gear than you would ever want to see.
 Are you on overload yet?
But wait…there's more!
This is SANTA'S Ornament Shop. What could be more official. Dare we go in? You doubted me?
One one of about eight rooms of glitz!
Santa asked me to tell you...
He loves you to the moon and back!
I am partying here, want you join me?
P. S. I finally got my tree finished today. Yeh!
Christmas Past!
My sincerest thanks to all my dear friends and relatives who prayed for my sweet daughter Kim. She did very well with the surgery. We are so pleased that they didn't find anything they didn't already know…a congenital condition that contributed to the loss of the first kidney. No "C" word or disease of the kidney, for that we are so thankful.
A stent is offering relief now and a reevaluation in a month will determine a more permanent solution. So glad this phase is over and she has relief. Please continue to remember her in your prayers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will be decorating for Christmas the first week of December so I want to share some scenes from Christmas past. Some of you may have seen these pics and some were before bogging and the pictures are not so great. I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to our home
we're so glad to have you visit!

Remember, don't peek, keep your tinsel straight and dream of sugar plums…
SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN!

I truly hope you enjoyed reminiscing about Christmas Past!
I will be back soon with this year's decor.
This year will be our sweet A. J.'s first Christmas!
Halloween Outfit
Hamming it up for the camera! Aren't those two teeth cute, she now has four.
She loves her Mama!
Thanksgiving (Turkey) Day outfit! We changed her clothes in the car. Don't tell me you never did that!
PARTY TIME!!
May your holidays be filled with the spirit of
"THE LITTLE CHILD".

Happy Thanksgiving!
