CHRISTMAS PAST

I AM NOT THAT FAST!!!
But I will get there!

Just to make me (no one else minds, I'm sure) happy.

Here are a few scenes from
Christmas 2009

I wasn't a blogger then and photos were of people.
The decorations were second thought.
I was busy snapping Sweet Old Bob
sneaking his second slice of pie.

COME ON IN!
I WAS READY FOR YOU!
I have told several of you that
blue and white are my favorite colors.

When photographing last year I
the photographer was out of my his mind.
In 2010, I will be photographing with you in mind.
I certainly hope 2010's photos will be better.
Do you see a New Year's resolution developing?

Took a lot of crappy cropping!
to edit out our family clutter.
We were actually living it, at the moment!

We had to PRETEND
there was snow in Savannah!
I even had the air conditioning on trying to keep this guy
FROZEN!!

Still a little snow visible here.
We were freezing our swimsuits off!
The trim on the china is gold as is the napkin.
I guess I got what I paid for with that photographer.

Mrs. Clause was in the kitchen.
I heard her offer to help with the dishes
in exchange for some candy.

I was able to pay her off with this!
Works every time for every tummy!

SUGAR PLUMS
 On the kitchen tree!

HE IS THE REASON!
Allow me to wish each of you

PEACE

JOY

LOVE

Please come back

FAMILY - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

I have seen and read so many beautiful offerings of Thanksgiving.
They are both thought provoking and inspiring.
Thank you for adding to my blessings.

I am thankful that my LORD gave us his WORD and that my family passed it down to me.
His WORD is LOVE!

FAMILY - PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE.
I am humbly thankful for my family.
My parents and my grandparents were
salt of the earth, hardworking people
who loved God,  family and country.
They graciously gifted their ethics and faith
to me.
My present family is such a blessing, my husband of 52 years, my children and grandchildren.
I treasure the opportunity to pass the gift
I received, during my early childhood, by supporting and celebrating the dreams, goals and accomplishments of each precious spirit entrusted to my life experience.
I have faith that these precious souls, with whom I share so much joy, will continue to pass on the gift.
LOVE
I AM, humbly, thankful for my
FAMILY - PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE.

I count each of you as FAMILY.
You are what America is all about.
No cookie cutters here. Individuals with different cultures, faiths, hopes and dreams. Still... FAMILY.
We are all here for a reason, together.
That reason....To pass it on.

May each of my new friends and all those I have yet to meet have a blessed
Thanksgiving

BOY AM I GLAD TO BE HOME!!
I HAVE MISSED ALL OF YOU, DEAR FRIENDS

After three weeks across the pond and on the high seas I had to scramble
to participate in the wonderful "Tablescape Thursday"

With family coming in for "Turkey Day" I thought I should do something else for Fall before pulling out the Christmas "stuff".

So let me "WEIGH IN"!!

This vintage scale is a permanent resident in the kitchen.

It is usually decorated for the seasons.

Love the mirrors on the sides.

The scale always sits upon this old washstand.

Last used in Herrin, Illinois in 1986, I am sure it is much older than that.

I sure hope I can make this qualify as a tablescape!!
It has a "TOP", soooooo I could use it for a table.
I am definitely going to "SCAPE" it.

Now that's settled.
Let"s start with a basket.
I am sure most of you have one of these baskets in one form or another.

For added lift,I am adding the separator
which is normally used to separate the dishes.

OOPs, we missed the process.
I am shaky for some reason so those pics got deleted.
Don't you love that delete button!!

I used some real and some not so real elements.

There were a few lime light hydrangea left when we got home.
Funny, these came off the same bush but all are a little different.

I found some crape myrtle stems and some spanish moss.
I did spray the moss before bringing it into the house!

How do you like "Mr Birdie"
He's NOT worried
He knows he is to small for the big dinner.

"Ole Tom" thinks he is big stuff but he won't feed my crowd!

Hope my kids like it!

That's it for today, dear friends!
I hope you enjoyed my efforts and our visit.
If so please leave me a comment.

I sure am glad to be home and I will visiting all of you soon!
Don't forget to link back to the Gracious Hostesses listed above
for inspiration!

Next time I will tell you about my Sweet Old Bob's stay
at a couple of Paris hospitals!
