Congratulations!

Got Rooster?
YOU BET WE DO!!

Several weeks ago I would have told you I did not own a single rooster or hen for that matter.
Luck smiled upon me and I won this awesome giveaway

from one of the nicest of ladies, Babs of
Please go by to visit her neat blog. She is a great gal and you will enjoy getting to know her.
Vintage Lefton
Well, I told Babs that these were my first roosters. I "LIED". Now, I didn't know I was lying. I just hadn't been looking around my chicken coop thoroughly.
I needed a hook to display that beautiful "Rooster" apron. I was coming in from the garage and noticed a rack that I put up, many years ago. Perfect!

I am not sure how you attractively display an apron but this one is beautiful.
We leave town and go on our roadtrip. Me,  I got roosters on my mind. Now, I don't know about you but Sweet Old Bob doesn't like to leave me alone in Cracker Barrel. Let me tell you, this is one traveling rooster.

After purchasing him, on sale, he went on the road. Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and back to Georgia.  Thinking back I should have taken his pic in all these places. He's much better looking than any ole gnome.

Actually the large box he was traveling was the topic of lots of jokes over the two week period.

Later, I remembered a tablecloth given to me by a friend, years ago. It was not my colors so I packed it away. Out it comes for it's party debut.
It doesn't fit my table properly. For today I am sharing.

OH MY, I do have roosters! Upon my pitcher/teapot shelf sits a cute rooster pitcher I brought back from Italy many years ago. Actually he was shipped home with quite a few of his flock. Everyone got roosters that Christmas.

How does he look with
Limelight and Endless Summer Hydrangea?

Let's look through the napkin rings. Hmmmm, I think these are hens. That's OK, Shelia said we could bring hens. I must confess I did purchase these napkins for this occasion.

This plate was part of my gift from Babs. Thanks Babs.
It seems like all rooster decor coordinates so well.
Sitting on the floor in the dining room was this white rooster/hen. I bought him several years ago at HomeGoods. He had been there so long I almost forgot about him. Must be a hen because he obviously hasn't been crowing.

While in the dining room I remembered a little depression glass hen that belonged to my grandmother.
I have no idea what my Grandmother put in this little jewel.

Isn't she cute. She really is a "Senior Citizen".
A couple of chips, but most of us seniors have a few chips here and there!

Compared to all you "ROOSTER" aficionados, my collection is poultry, I mean paultry.

Since my collection is so small I decided to incorporate it into a tablescape. I will never again pass up a deal on a rooster. I am no longer afraid of roosters. Roosters are you friends.
yellow dinner plate everyday dinnerware, bowls from GW. four for one dollar.

These little daisy plates rode around with "Sir Blanc" the large rooster.
They were forty percent off. They followed me out the door.
The flatware that is askew if from Horchow, on sale. That flatware has a mind of it's own.
I swear it walked around the table several times.

Vintage Lefton hen, relish tray.
Blue Onion salt and pepper shaker

I don't remember where I got the blue dessert dishes and the red goblets.

I forgot to tell you about Bob and Ginger.
They are looking for some of that "Chicken Scratch"
That may have dropped on the table.
Sweet Old Bob
Vintage Lefton Rooster
Ginger
For the rest of you...start looking around your coop. Those darn chickens are everywhere. Make use of them, just make sure they know the pecking order.

I hope you enjoyed my tribute to
"OUR FINE FEATHERED FRIENDS"

If you enjoyed your visit please leave a comment.
If you didn't, leave one anyway. Might make you feel better.

Such lovely pictures, Ginger. And I agree that Sweet Old Bob would put any old gnomes to shame. And I almost picked up a hen like yours from Home Goods the other day, but I don't remember what store I saw it at - we don't have a Home Goods.

Oh you DO have a lot! Funny how sometimes we do not realize how much we have until we gather them. I love the white one you bought from Crackel Barrel. I have one like your white lacy one but crazy me, I sold it in my booth. Now I miss it. Your tablescape is so pretty, Ginger, love the colors and all the chickens around. Come see my tablescape too if you have a chance....Christine

Ginger, I remembered your post after I started reading it. I've had problems leaving comments on some posts ...maybe that is why I don't see a comment from that day in August. Those roosters were taking over your home and you didn't even see them! Ha!
