STILL LOOKING FOR SPRING?

THIS IS A SPRING/EASTER TABLESCAPE FROM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO.
I will have a new one Sunday, as my daughter will be
visiting from Illinois. I am waiting for her as we will
create the tablescape together.
Now I hope you will enjoy this look back!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I KNOW SOME OF YOU, IN OTHER AREAS,  ARE STILL LOOKING FOR SPRING.
I AM GETTING CABIN FEVER BUT AT LEAST SPRING HAS ARRIVED IN SAVANNAH!
WITH MY "SWEET OLD BOB'S" HELP,  I WAS ABLE TO BRING SPRINGTIME INSIDE.
(I had a broken foot when I wrote this post)
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY DISHES AND ACCESSORIES TO AND FRO WHILE USING A WALKER.  I ASKED BOB TO BRING WHAT I NEEDED TO THE TABLE.  HE WAS SO SWEET AND CUTE "TOTING" DISHES.
I will be using the kitchen table for awhile. It requires less dishes and is easier to navigate. You can see that Bob has already brought some dishes to the table. He is shaking his head but he keeps bringing "stuff" to the table.
THE TABLE IS AN ANTIQUE,  FROM AN INN,  IN ENGLAND.  IT IS NARROWER THAN MOST TABLES.
The table is rubbed every couple of months with teak oil. There are two additional
12 inch draw extensions.
My Daughter, in Illinois, brought these dishes to me in March.
 She found them in a thrift shop in southern Illinois.
She brought me the little pure white dishes but I won't be using them today. I will be using the turquoise and white. This was a set of 59 pieces that she purchased for $25.00. YES! For all of them.
THE STACKING PROCESS
This placemat is really turquoise as you will notice later.
This beautiful pattern is "Petal Lane" by Taylor-Smith-Taylor and the pattern is from the 50's. It is a soft white with a silver rim, delicate turquoise flowers with touches of pink. My first kitchen was turquoise...stove, oven, sink. The whole shabang!
 A generous sized soup/salad/pasta bowl
I am in love with the cup and saucer. Isn't it the cutest thing?
Today I am adding this fruit/berry bowl to hold another piece.
I mentioned this sherbet in my cupboard post HERE.
I purchased these with S and H Green Stamps in 1963. There wasn't a lot of money for dishes in those days.
Doesn't this say spring to you?  I love it. The napkins are a silver weave fabric and the silver is antique sterling introduced in 1902 by International Silversmiths. Pattern is Stratford. It is long since discontinued.
This pattern features carnations and exquisite detail on front and back. My skills and camera don't properly capture the detail.
Salad fork. Couldn't get good pic. Too much reflection.
Fruit spoon. Sorry about the pics. Pics don't do this silver justice.
I absolutely love this cup and saucer.
The orchid is a gift from a friend, this week. I hope my brown thumb doesn't kill it. Any tips for keeping orchids alive are appreciated.
I love the color inside the gravy boat and the detail on the ladle.
You can see the round tipped knife. That spot on the blade is a reflection from the light. The blades are plate. You have seen the goblet before, it was thrifted.
The orchid is so lovely now. My fingers are crossed.
(I did kill it long ago)
The votives are from Dollar Tree
A small peek of the salt and pepper shakers and relish tray. Don't know where their closeups went.
I HOPE SPRING HAS ARRIVED WHERE YOU LIVE.
I ENJOYED SHARING SPRING IN MY KITCHEN.
I WILL BE JOINING THE FOLLOWING PARTIES:
ALL those pieces for just $25??!?!? Your daughter was really looking out for you!!! What a pretty pattern! I like the cup & saucer and the gravy boat the most. I think the cup because it's turquoise on the outside and white on the inside with just a touch of color. So pretty! I think you posted this table just about the time that you and I were getting to know each other. I think it's so sweet that Bob was helping out but being a typical man and shaking his head throughout the whole process! That's a guy for you! Sorry your orchid didn't survive. Some of us - me included - just don't have the right touch. We'd make great hit men if the plant world had a Mafia! :-)
A Happy and Blessed Easter to you both!
Lady, you can come and set my table anytime! TST made some lovely, lovely dishes and your set really shows off their style and eye for shape.
Aqua is not one of my colors--I'm a red, yellow and green girl--but I love, love, love your table. You really have an eye for putting it together.
Dearest Ginger,
Sorry to read that you broke your foot! Hope by now you are managing to get around the way you want to.
Your Bob did an excellent job at bringing those dishes out. First time I hear that you work that beautiful tiger sawn oak with teak oil. Guess that works, instead of the old bees wax or whatever.
Love that table, our dining room table is kind of narrow too but we work with it.
Lovely setting and you certainly do display a knack for beautiful table arrangements.
Ah, soak that orchid only once a week into water; that's it. Put it IN the water that is, in the sink or whatever and than leave it alone.
Happy Easter to you both and lots of hugs and well wishes,
Mariette
How very beautiful, Ginger! I haven't quite set my table yet, and I hope you don't mind if I borrow your egg-in-the-wine-glass idea! It's lovely!
Your whole table is beautiful! I hope your Easter is as lovely!
Hello, Ginger. I'm a bit late in arriving, but I'm SOOOO glad I came to visit you! This is a lovely, lovely table (no one does aqua like T-S-T), and aqua is my favorite color, so I'm in love with this table. I can see why you love the cup and saucers--I chose my wedding china based on the shape of the cup! :) And that sterling....oh.my.GOSH. It is BEAUTIFUL! The ladle and tongs and the spoons--EVERY PIECE--is beautiful! Have never seen that pattern. Give Bob a pat on the back for me for being a good sport on this table! I hope he's doing better these days. So nice to see a post from you, Ginger, and I'm looking forward to your upcoming one.
Thanks for visiting my Bunnyville and your sweet comments. ~Zuni
It amazes me how many settings you ladies have to decorate your table. I fear it would drive my obsessive nature crazy having too much of any one thing. Isn't funny how some collect dishes, other clothes or fabrics and some collect pieces of time in dishes. I recall my mother having a pattern something very close to this but the middle was a wheat stock and it was in brown orange and tan on cream. Similar, but different. Lovely setting. Hugs. Tammy
