PACKING IN CHRISTMAS!!

Many of you know that we were away for Christmas!
So the decorating was slim around here!

I decorated the kitchen chandy with my
 Norman Rockwell Cameo Collecton.

There were nine ornaments in the series depicting Santa from a first appearance through his exhausted finale on Christmas Night. The series ran from 1980 through 1988.

I really restricted my decoration to the breakfast area so of course I decorated the sideboard.

Everything is packed up til next year. I will soon share how the sideboard looks now. I am not quite satisfied with it yet.
We left here and traveled to Tennessee and Illinois.
We had a great time with family and friends.

We passed around the egg nog and the upper respitory infections. Much of the time I was wearing a surgical mask.
And No, I did not get a picture of that!
Here are a few pics I did get!

TENNESSEE

All of these figures are animated and musical. My grandson Jon and I loved to get them all going at once.
Drove my sweet SIL crazy!

Hollie made this beautiful card holder. I meant to get a pic of the sweet advent calender she made.

ILLINOIS

Kim has been really ill the last six weeks so I was not allowed to take pics inside.

She did a total renovation on the outside this summer.
I think it looks so pretty. This was the extent of her Christmas decor. You can see it was a strange holiday for us but at least the meaning was not lost upon us.
We have each other and we are blessed.

I will share the total renovation later

Above is her office and guest house.
This is where we stay when we visit.
The field you see was the cornfield

Hey, we're from Savannah!
This IS SNOW and it counts!
Well, we are home and everyone is feeling better.
I have been busy listing new items in the
Be sure to visit and see what's new!

Dearest Ginger,

Welcome back home to the South!
So you too caught some upper respitory infections. For that you didn't have to leave state; we got our share as well.
Often I wonder how many tons of Christmas items will be stowed away in this nation alone... We have only very little to handle each year. If one had to move as often as we did, it is easy to slim down. Also for other reasons we don't want to add to much, we've seen the other side of the world as well. The commercial things, that have nothing to do with religion, don't appeal to us as much. If one has kids, that is a different story, you create the atmosphere for them.
Besides, we did grow up with Saint Nicholas, which is on December 5 and 6 (for kids) and Chistmas was more like Thanksgiving, a family get-together with great food.

Have a great week and look forward to the rest of the story. By the way I didn't know you both had a secret cellar till now.

Love to you,

Mariette

Hi, Ginger! Thanks for the glimpse into your decorations--very pretty! I've never heard of the Norman Rockwell series; very interesting to know about. will need to research that! I think I'll copy your idea of the chandelier next year. I've decorated ours before, but not with hanging ornaments. And that garland on the stairs is GORGEOUS! ~Zuni

Well we live in Kansas City so theres probably not a Hallmark Ornament I don't know about. I have this, set too and love it. I really like how you displayed them. I'm always looking for new ways to show my sets too. That home is so gorgeous--looks like a Hallmark Christmas movie could me made there.

Hey there! You followed me when I was on Google - but WordPress doesn't have that type of function - so don't know if you've been by my new location or not. I got an invite to join you on Linked In, I think it was, but not knowing what it's about, I skipped it. Seems like blog business is blogging and everything else goes by the wayside sometimes! And, I keep thinking I should get by my old followers and say thanks and welcome you over to my WordPress blog. I guess I'll include that now. Thanks, and come on by! Anyway - enjoyed your photos - that's some hefty bannister decorations on that wonderful home (your SIL's). Sorry to hear everyone's been sick. Hope everyone's getting better! Love the little doo-dads on your buffet. Snow. Any kind, is snow when you don't get snow of any measure, right? Good to see you. Traveling w/Liz of Time Travel Thursday. Jenn

Well, welcome home! I was delighted to see a post update from you. I've been out of town myself this week so I'm just getting here.

I think all the decor you posted from Savannah to Tennessee to Illinois is wonderful. Your sideboard is right up my alley!

I love the renovation in the last set. I hope she feels better soon. And you!

Glad ya'll are feeling better! Your Norman Rockwell ornaments are just beautiful, I have never seen any like these. I only decorated my living room and dining room this year. Your breakfast room decorations are beautiful. I think we appreciate and enjoy them more when they are not all over the house.
