We have family to welcome you!
Meet Bobby, my daughter's 11 month old pug. He was visiting last week. |
Bobby had made friends with "Elvis". "Elvis" is a little under the weather after a hard winter. |
You can see the pollen on the black table |
This time of year everything looks dull, weary and tired. Just like Elvis.
It is time to brighten things up a little. The first week of May, each year, the pressure washer man shows and does his magic on all the outside porches. On alternating years he cleans the house.
I really thought we needed to add a pop of color. So off I went to the fabric store.
I fell in love with this Robert Allen outdoor fabric. This was my starting point and I needed to work with the existing rugs. I covered the cushion on the swing with this fabric and bought new outdoor pillows.
Next I chose new cushions for the rockers. The rockers are a little "chippy" so I won't be painting them.
The pillows on the swing are from Walmart. On the rocker the cushions are from Walmart, the pillows from Pier One.
Now to do a little spray painting. I will be painting the old milk can, a vintage table and a wicker table. Time to choose a color that pops!
I was sure you would guess the color! |
It was ugly then and it is still ugly but I have an idea for it. It will show up again soon.
I think the porch turned out nice. There are still a few more things I want to do but I wanted to share.
The boot was on sale at Stein Mart, the squirrel was a gift, the candle holder was thrifted and the candle from HomeGoods. |
I flipped up the thrift store crochet piece so you could see my little friend and the table. |
Lest I forget "Elvis" got a thorough grooming, however, he is still "Dog" tired.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to my front porch.
I am linking to the following gracious hostesses.
