GRANNY FLUNKS OUT!

Yes, I flunked balance therapy!
I won't be blogging quite as often for the next few weeks.
Some of you may remember that I was in physical therapy to improve my balance. Well, I guess you can say I flunked out last Friday. Having fallen on the steps in my garage and being unable to stand without aid, one might put off balance therapy for a while.
Or you might say that I was a little late in starting therapy.
THAT SAID, I DID ATTEND THE SAINT PATRICK'S DAY PARADE.

The day before my fall my family all went to the parade. I haven't been able to get all the pics from each family member as of yet. I copied these from my son's facebook.
I hope you will enjoy these as a prelude.
You have to be early to get a good spot. Some areas are so crowded one can't see. We had a good spot.
These ladies had a captive audience for Girl Scout Cookie sales.
NO! This is not me or anyone I know. Other than the first pic of me
no relatives were  abused in the preparation of this post.

Of course this is a natural hair color this time of year in Savannah.

You know, he may be related to the young man above!
It doesn't take talent to get into the parade, just green attire!

Believe it or not there is a bank president and attorney in this group. Our local Shriners do a great job of supporting worthy charities. Children's Burn Center.

Wouldn't be a parade without bagpipers.
There were about five groups. A couple of the groups were from Ireland.

The Budwieser Clydesdales are my all time favorites.
After the parade the party moves to Riverstreet for partying and green beer.
By nightfall the crowd was shoulder to shoulder.

All in all, a fabulous day and fun was had by all.
We will pack up all the green for another year.
Hope you all had a great
Saint Paddy's Day!
I will be posting from my files, some experiences that I didn't share last year. I really can't transport dishes and favorite accessories or work on projects with this walker.  I hate missing out on the fun so I will see you out there.
I am joining the following parties. Please visit them and all the other great posts at their  party.

Sorry to hear about your fall. I also fell in the garage recently, I'm Grammy. Bruised both knees badly, crashed into a paint can with my face, requiring 8 stitches in my eyebrown and smashed my mouth, but other than that I was OK. LOL I looked terrible for awhile with FAT lip and black eye, but thankfully no broken bones. Hope you are recovering soon. Balance is important.

Loved your pictures of the St. Patricks Day Parade.

Have a God Filled Day

Ms. Ginger! You better take care of yourself! Don't make me pack up and come on over there and take care of you and sweet ol' Bob. Although I would if you needed me, just say the word :)

Ginger, I'll be praying that you get your balance issues under control soon. I struggle with balance issues too and know how easy it is to take a fall. Take care my friend.

Oh no, Ginger! Hope your recovery is uneventful and speedy!

Having a fall is bad (and scary) enough without all the problems that come after. Yes, I hope you have a speedy recovery, and don't get too frustrated with your poor body. (Glad you got your priorities right and made it to the parade)

Ginger, you take good care of yourself. I think my Mom did simple exercises for balance as well because of ear problems; when she gets back from her trip I'll ask her. I'll be sending healing thoughts your way! :)

I just said to my hubby the other day that I REALLY want to go to Savannah and stay for a few days to really SEE it. We were there for a day a few years ago: came over on the ferry from Hilton Head. I know I would love the city. I am so sorry about your fall! Hope you are better soon. I will be your newest follower now too! XO, Pinky

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for following. I enjoyed your St. Pat parade pics (and oh yes, I love Savannah) and am sorry about your fall and balance problems. Hopefully you are improving soon. Your desert rose tablescape is beautiful! My dishes were my mom's and we gave them to her later in her life because she had always loved them. She is now in an assisted living place so when we broke up her home, they came to my house as I had always loved them!

Oh! get well soon and take care of yourself.
As you know my son lives in Savannah. What great pics from the parade, brough back such memories of my vist last year. Love River Street. I heard that a couple of years ago there was a power cut on St. Patricks Day and it was difficult to get everyone from River Street due to the steep steps.
Anyway Happy Week

Ginger, I sure hope you are doing better. I was thinking of you when the storms tore through Florida last week and hoping y'all weren't getting it in Savannah. We had two big trees go down (in Central Florida on property we have there), and they fell from the neighbor's yard within five feet of our back porch. It was terrifying. They got the trees out of the yard, but they dug trenches, knocked down bushes and fences, and generally made a mess. The sprinkler guys were here today (till another storm front ran them off), and they were amazed that the thing went "between" the sprinkler rows). God did it. He also kept it off of our house. I feel so grateful.

So, I'm here tending to things, plus I went to a funeral and am going to two parties. I might not go to one today if it doesn't stop raining. It's a mess outside. That's what is going on in my world. That, and Mr. Magpie has the flu. I feel so bad for him because I'm not there to help. I'm here overseeing the mess.

Anyhow, hope things are much better there and that you are enjoying a lovely spring...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Ginger.
Sorry to hear that you have been in the wars and are still having trouble getting about.
It must be all the green beer that's a fault!
Thanks so much for bringing back great memories of the St Patricks Day Parade which we enjoyed a few years back.
Hope you're back on your own two feet again soon.
