GRANNY FLUNKS OUT!

Yes, I flunked balance therapy!
I won't be blogging quite as often for the next few weeks.
Some of you may remember that I was in physical therapy to improve my balance. Well, I guess you can say I flunked out last Friday. Having fallen on the steps in my garage and being unable to stand without aid, one might put off balance therapy for a while.
Or you might say that I was a little late in starting therapy.
THAT SAID, I DID ATTEND THE SAINT PATRICK'S DAY PARADE.

The day before my fall my family all went to the parade. I haven't been able to get all the pics from each family member as of yet. I copied these from my son's facebook.
I hope you will enjoy these as a prelude.
You have to be early to get a good spot. Some areas are so crowded one can't see. We had a good spot.
These ladies had a captive audience for Girl Scout Cookie sales.
NO! This is not me or anyone I know. Other than the first pic of me
no relatives were  abused in the preparation of this post.

Of course this is a natural hair color this time of year in Savannah.

You know, he may be related to the young man above!
It doesn't take talent to get into the parade, just green attire!

Believe it or not there is a bank president and attorney in this group. Our local Shriners do a great job of supporting worthy charities. Children's Burn Center.

Wouldn't be a parade without bagpipers.
There were about five groups. A couple of the groups were from Ireland.

The Budwieser Clydesdales are my all time favorites.
After the parade the party moves to Riverstreet for partying and green beer.
By nightfall the crowd was shoulder to shoulder.

All in all, a fabulous day and fun was had by all.
We will pack up all the green for another year.
Hope you all had a great
Saint Paddy's Day!
I will be posting from my files, some experiences that I didn't share last year. I really can't transport dishes and favorite accessories or work on projects with this walker.  I hate missing out on the fun so I will see you out there.
I am joining the following parties. Please visit them and all the other great posts at their  party.

I know she will. Lynn, we can't wait for you

NOW FOR A LITTLE THAT!!
I am working very hard to get my bedroom finished by the end of March. A couple of days ago I showed you this.
My daughters don't know it but they are going to help me finish this, next week.
Now just a peek of something else!
This is not a headboard.
I think you will like this when it is finished. It is not a headboard. Did I repeat myself? I do that sometimes.
Stay tuned for the results.

A LITTLE MORE OF THAT!!
The UPS man came by today bringing THIS, no THAT. Whatever!
The condition of this package was scary
Bob: "What's THAT?"
Me:   "A plate."
Bob:  " Please, don't tell me that's more dishes."
Me:    "OK, it's not dishes, it's a plate."
End of conversation.

Oh my, this looks bad. This is the third time I have purchased this item on Ebay. The first two arrived broken.
Oh,well, I have a pic.

Success at last! I am one excited chick!

After previous experience, let's say I was anxious. I did, however, get a really good price on this one.
PERFECTION
This lovely "Bordallo Green Cabbage" chip and dip will be showing up, soon, in a couple of tablescapes. I'll bet you can guess which ones.
Since this is a tabletop piece and I am so excited that it arrived in once piece I hope Marty won't mind me joining her party. Thanks Marty, I love you.

Well that's all the This and That for today!

IT'S SPRING AT MY HOUSE!!!

DON'T FORGET TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY
HERE!!
CSN GIFT CODE AND MORE
I have extended the entry period thru
Sunday March 6, midnight.

THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT!!!

It is getting warmer and we have had
a few beautiful days.

It was beautiful yesterday. I left for therapy early so I could go by GW. I have said before that our GW never has anything. I went anyway.
As luck would have it I found this Longaberger look alike for on $1.00. Not quite the LB quality but really nice. For $1.00 it was going home with me.
I had planned to use this Irish runner buy decided to use it next week. Nice little basket, yes?

I like the way the handle curves

Sturdy for $1.00
I stopped at Kroger and picked up some Primrose for my centerpiece.  Bob came today bringing his free flowers, Pink Roses. That's when I decided to change what I had planned for the tablescape. I decided to use my Franciscan Desert Rose.

I used the pink roses and the primrose.
I love these green and white placements. I think, in blog lingo, this is a vintage, chippy and shabby charger.
I added my vintage Franciscan Desert Rose dinner plate. I hate the new stuff they are selling. Won't buy it.

Pink salad plate

Forgot to get a pic of just the rimmed soup. Added linen and crochet, starched, napkin and yellow rose ring.

I love the Wallace sterling flatware, Waltz of Spring

Bob's free roses, forsythia and greenery from the yard.
I ended up using the primrose

I have enough serving pieces to enjoy using them often, serving most anything. This would be a typical setting with family in the kitchen. I did a similar table with the same china for my daughter,
Kim, the last time she was in town.

Purchased votive holders during after Christmas sales.
The water goblets were a thrift store find. Pattern unknown. Only had four.

This is my favorite pic. I think I used it twice. That's OK, it's my fairytale.  Love the napkin rings, I got them from ebay. Ebay is gooooood.

relish dish was thrift store find
Bob thought this was a real rose. Our eyes are failing you know!

I just love the napkin rings. Did I say that before? The napkins are vintage. I think they go well with the charger.
I hope you have enjoyed my "Ode to Spring"
