Dale Chihuly at Cheekwood

AS PROMISED!!
DALE CHIHULY!!

Two weeks ago, while visiting my daughter in Nashville, I experienced an awesome sight. We had the privilege to see and enjoy the work of world renowned artist.
  Dale Chihuly


This work is on display at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art
Nashville, Tennessee

The Cheekwood estate and 55 acres of lush gardens was the home of the Founder of the Maxwell House Coffee fortune, Leslie Cheek.


Dale Chihuly was born in 1941.
His gigantic blown glass sculptures have been exhibited all over the world.

This exhibit is at Cheekwood until October 31st.
Chihuly also has an indoor exhibit at the "Frist" Museum
in downtown Nashville


There is a nice restaurant and gift shop on the grounds.

Oh, how I wish I lived close by. I would love to see this in person, although you have done a fabulous job capturing it inside and outside. How fantastic. I love his work. I would love those purple ones in my own garden and I would hang the chandelier in the entry too. How fun that you got to see it and thank so much for taking the time to blog about it. His work is amazing! There are a few permanent pieces from his exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and I love them. When I get back from Texas I would love to go to Nashville to see that exhibit!

Isnt that just FANTASTIC! I watched a program with him on PBS and was enthralled but this is just gorgeous out in the garden.

I got to tell ya Savannah, my heart started to do a pitter patter as I saw todays post. We currently have a Chihuly exhibit very very similar at our local Art Gardens too. For a minute there I thought you had been close to me and hadn't stopped by. I love his work, I've seen both inside and outside exhibits and I am always amazed at his talent. Its just breathtaking. Thanks so much for sharing today.

I love, love, love Chihuly!!!!! The Columbus Museum in Columbus (GA) has some of his amazing pieces as well.

Dale Chihuly glass artwork is amazing. The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas has the most incredible glass ceiling in the lobby area by Dale Chihuly.

What a great opportunity for you to see his work in Nashville. Love the display of pieces floating in the pond :-) And your picture of the glass sun with the real sunbeams shining on it is awesome!
