MY FAVORITE POSSESSION

I am not quite up to a project at this time.  SO! I am enjoying looking at all your wonderful and inspirational projects. I will probably be copying some of them the real soon.

For now, I thought I would share my favorite possession with you. It is definitely vintage.

Do you know those people who can take nothing and create a thing of beauty. I knew a lady who could take a ball of twine/thread and create the most beautiful and unique things you would ever see.
These beautiful crochet gloves were made by my mother, Vivian Anderson.
She made them for me to wear for Easter.
I was sixteen years old.

She was a crocheting machine. She made beautiful pieces for all her grandchildren and dozens and dozens of doilies and such.
Unfortunately, she called me one day, from Atlanta, all excited.  She sold a huge box of those pieces at a garage sale. I asked if there were any left. I was able to save a very few.
I had to take this off the wall to avoid the glare

That Easter I felt like "the belle of the ball"(I guess that is not an appropriate attitude for Easter). Only saying how happy I was to be wearing these beautiful gloves.

The photos are not good but the gloves are awesome!

This is the glare when the frame was on the wall. You can see the swing arm lamp by the bed.
I see these gloves each morning when I awake. I can remember seeing my Momma, sitting, rocking, crocheting and watching the "World Series".  She refused to answer the phone during a series game. Precious Memories.
I hope you enjoyed a glimpse of fashion in 1956!
Oh, in case you are wondering.  Yes, I did wear a hat!

I am joining these gracious hostesses. They host the greatest parties. Be sure to link back to them to see tons of inspiring posts.
