UPDATE ON GRIP DECK DETACHABLE BEDSKIRT

Thank you so much for your kind comments and many inquiries about the Grip Deck Detachable Bedskirt Kit.

Many of you asked where I purchased my Grip Deck kit for my bedskirt. I posting this update in an attempt to answer those questions.

There is good news and bad news. 

The bad news. It seems the Grip Deck kit is no longer available. I have tried to reach the website from which I purchased my kit. The site is no longer active. They are no longer in business.

I was able to find a patent filing for this kit issued to Sweet Dreams West of Tuscan, Az., their phone number had been disconnected. 

Looks like I am the only person who bought one of these kits. LOL! I really DID and DO like the product.

The good news. I have figured out how to make it with readily available supplies.  My suggestions are a part of this post.

I have been thinking about this and it can be duplicated.  There are three ways to achieve this.

My Method for making the deck!

1.  The base, the part covering the top of the boxspring, looks to be made from a product similar to a lightweight rug pad. You know the kind like the rubber shelf liner except heavier. You could purchase a lightweight rug pad that would fit your mattress. Cut to fit and stitch or glue the hook side of hook and loop tape around the perimeter of the pad/decking. Place this between your matteress and boxspring and proceed with the skirting instructions (on the tutorial page).

 2.  Purchase the rubber shelf liner. Cut three lengths, two for the side measurements and on for the foot measurement of your bed. Stitch or glue the hook side of hook and loop tape to one edge of each of the three sections you have cut. Lift the edge of your mattress and place these strips under the mattress edges with the tape to the outside edge. Proceed with the skirting instructions.

3.  If you don't mind adhering something directly to your mattress,  you could purchase the self adhesive hook and loop tape and attach the hook side to the top outside edges to your boxsprings.  Proceed with the skirting instructions.
