BOY AM I GLAD TO BE HOME!!
I HAVE MISSED ALL OF YOU, DEAR FRIENDS

After three weeks across the pond and on the high seas I had to scramble
to participate in the wonderful "Tablescape Thursday"

With family coming in for "Turkey Day" I thought I should do something else for Fall before pulling out the Christmas "stuff".

So let me "WEIGH IN"!!

This vintage scale is a permanent resident in the kitchen.

It is usually decorated for the seasons.

Love the mirrors on the sides.

The scale always sits upon this old washstand.

Last used in Herrin, Illinois in 1986, I am sure it is much older than that.

I sure hope I can make this qualify as a tablescape!!
It has a "TOP", soooooo I could use it for a table.
I am definitely going to "SCAPE" it.

Now that's settled.
Let"s start with a basket.
I am sure most of you have one of these baskets in one form or another.

For added lift,I am adding the separator
which is normally used to separate the dishes.

OOPs, we missed the process.
I am shaky for some reason so those pics got deleted.
Don't you love that delete button!!

I used some real and some not so real elements.

There were a few lime light hydrangea left when we got home.
Funny, these came off the same bush but all are a little different.

I found some crape myrtle stems and some spanish moss.
I did spray the moss before bringing it into the house!

How do you like "Mr Birdie"
He's NOT worried
He knows he is to small for the big dinner.

"Ole Tom" thinks he is big stuff but he won't feed my crowd!

Hope my kids like it!

That's it for today, dear friends!
I hope you enjoyed my efforts and our visit.
If so please leave me a comment.

I sure am glad to be home and I will visiting all of you soon!
Don't forget to link back to the Gracious Hostesses listed above
for inspiration!

Next time I will tell you about my Sweet Old Bob's stay
at a couple of Paris hospitals!

I remember the little store in the town I grew up in having one of those scales to weigh out the meat and cheese. You are ever so creative to use it in that beautiful vignette

Your scale vignette is wonderful & clever!, very festive. Great idea. I so remember this scale as a child in the grocery store & meat market.

Gosh! That is soooo cool. I love vintage items and am amazed how people make them fit right into their home with on problem. That is a wonderful arrangement. And Mr. Birdie is sweet.

I like the dresser (?) the whole thing is sitting on too. I will definitely be back.

Welcome back from your trip! I know the panic it puts in when you have been away. I love this scape. What a wonderful scale and you do such a beautiful job of making it part of the lovely decor. Can't wait to see what it looks like for Christmas. This was very inspiring, that we can take our old treasures and decorate them. Loved it.

Your old scale is great! You should link it to Tabletop Tuesday! Happy Turkey Day to you and yours!

I love your tablescape. It is so much fun to do a tablescape in an odd container or setting isn't it? Glad you are back home safe.

Welcome Home Ginger!~ I am glad you are back too. That is the neatest idea I have seen yet, it is such a neat piece and then to decorate it per season is even better. I enjoyed my break, and realize moderation is the key for me. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
