IN THIS OLD GAL'S LIFE!!

A short while ago I wouldn't have guessed that 100 lovely people would have any interest in what I had to say.  I didn't have a theme for my blog except to talk about my life experiences.
I hoped to bring a little joy, a hearty laugh and share an occasional thought laced with a little sage.
To celebrate the 100th follower ( I never expected to get more than 10) I am sponsoring a
 GIVEAWAY!
It has become apparent that most of you are dish addicts.  You have dishes in the attic, under the bed, in the laundry room, in the garage and Lord only knows where else.
I want to give to one lucky follower
a $30.00....plus, HomeGoods gift certificate.

SO.... I am supposed to tell you
seven things about myself.
Then I am supposed to pass the award along
to other neat bloggers. This is where it gets sticky!
Laura says 15, Nana Diana mentions 7, whew!!
I am gonna do my damndest !
(am I allowed to day that?)

1.  Born April, 1940 to awesome parents, Vivian and Ralph A, I was their second child and daughter. My sister Betty was three years older. She passed away when I was not yet three years old. I am so sorry I didn't remember her and I longed for her. So,  it was Mom, Dad and me. The three musketeers, we traveled and lived the "American Dream" Not a lot of money but tons of love.
2.  I revealed in #1. I DON'T LIE!~about my age. Ask me how much I weigh and I WILL LIE! My reasoning? I had absolutely nothing to do with my age. My weight, well, that's another thing.

3.  I fell in love with Sweet Old Bob when I was 15yrs old.
He was 2yrs older. The first words he said, verbatim, were "Will you shut up, I'm trying to sell this car?". I never shut up, he sold the car and was an extremely successful salesman until he retired. Love at first sight! We will be married 53 years this June.

4. With the exception of a couple of part-time jobs, I was a stay at home mom until my oldest graduated high school. The two youngest were so involved in school and other activities they were never home til dinner time. My Mom had just passed away (at age 59) and I needed to get out of the house. So, on doctor's orders I reentered the workforce. I went to work for a local bank as a "utility teller". This is something I had done before our babies came along.

5. I retired from banking in 1997, Vice President,  commercial and personal lender. During those years I worked as teller, vault teller(responsible for 3 mil, it's like counting cans until your out of balance. Then it becomes money...real fast), dept mgr, holding company auditor, asst. br. mgr, br mgr, loan officer, Avp,Vp. Whew! I hadn't thought about all that in a long time. I'm not sure the opportunity to work up through the ranks still exists today.

6. I am blessed to live on a beautiful barrier island off the coast of Georgia. We are sandwiched between the intercoastal waterway and the Atlantic ocean. We are surround by deer (they eat everything), alligator, the creator's most awesome waterfowl and a menagerie of other creatures. We are listed in various publications as one of the "Best Places To Retire".  Plus, I live with Sweet Old Bob.

7. Bob and I have always traveled. We have seen more of the world than we could have imagined 53 years ago. Age and health have slowed us somewhat, BUT! We're not done yet. I still have some pics to share from last year. Due to our escapade in Paris last October HERE, we are
probably staying stateside this year. It's been a wild ride and we have loved every minute of it.
Hope You aren't bored out of your mind
cause the following are my choices for the next

1. Farah @Craft A World. A talented crafter with the soul and heart of an angel.
2. Jo @Lazy On Loblolly. A sister of our beloved south. She is already like a sister.

4. Linda @A La Carte. She is so talented and boy can this girl shop.

TAKE A GANDER AT THIS GOOSE!!!

Reposting a favorite for Katherine's Corner
first ever
"Favorite Things "blog hop Here!

AND A FINE GOOSE IS SHE!!

Wanted to share this week's free flowers.
You can read more about my free flowers
Sweet Old Bob came home from his grocery shopping
with these!

My sweet goose tureen is today's container
Isn't she beautiful? She's really giving me the eye!
I've never used her for soup
She is really a versatile lady.
I know I am going to need more material
to satisfy her appetite!
Let's see what I can find outside.
We had some really cold days in December,
don't know what I can come up with.

Not much to choose from. A little pine, ivy, fern, lavender, jasmine and holly. That will do.

Let's get started a purple fellow here and a yellow blossom here. It's coming along

Don't know what this is but I sure like it.
She's getting pine for tail feathers.

Let's see, I am really liking her now.
Just a little more preening!
Can't tell any difference can you? I can.
I think Miss Goosey will like it by the window.
Let's see how much you weigh.
You did well over the Holidays.
Love your pine tail feathers!
I really like those green fuzzies!
Yes, she's a fine lady indeed!

Sooooo, free flowers, a little yard trash
and Miss Goosey.  Look BOB!
He loves to see how his flowers turn out.

WHATTA YOU THINK?

Now that's another thrifty centerpiece!
