A Savannah Valentine Times Two

I just loved this tablescape
that I did last year!
Since I have made so many new friends
during the past year I thought I would
share this tablescape again.

I hope you enjoy it

I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!
IF YOU HAVE VISITED SAVANNAH, YOU KNOW THAT IT IS A VERY ROMANTIC CITY.
I HAVE SET THE TABLE 
FOR A SMALL ROMANTIC DINNER PARTY.
 I'LL BE ENTERTAINING MY FAVORITE COUPLES.
THAT MEANS YOU AND YOUR SWEETIE!
I HAVE LOTS OF PHOTOS 
 I WILL KEEP THE SMALL TALK TO A MINIMUM.
MOST OF YOU KNOW THAT IS ESPECIALLY HARD FOR ME.

I had pink champagne left from Christmas. I had made Susan's@BNOTP holiday champagne punch.
Cooler - Actually a vase, Dillard's after Christmas sale.






In the sherbet dish is a chocolate dipped fortune cookie. I am sure the predictions are promising for Amour!
Salad plate - T J Maxx, Napkin rings - Dillard's after Christmas sale 2009.


I think this is a romantic pattern. Wallace "Waltz of Spring' sterling.
I chose this pattern when I was seventeen years old. Didn't own it til forty plus years later.
My favorite piece of Waterford - Purchased in Dublin Ireland in 1980s.

Yes indeedy, it works.
DESSERT IS COMING OUT OF THE OVEN!

Camellias for Valentines!

CAMELLIAS AND VALENTINES
GO WELL TOGETHER,
DON'T YOU THINK?
It was rainy here today (we needed it) so I was trying to find a way to brighten things up a bit.
 I had not shared the changes made to this corner.
Some may remember a slot machine in this spot.
 Well, the slot machine went to Tennessee. 
I really want an old bookcase, the primitive kind, for my overflow of cookbooks.
In the meantime, I brought this table from the front porch. 
The antique bowl and pitcher were purchased
at auction, in Kentucky, more than forty years ago.
Even though it looks delicate it is quite large and heavy. I love the bird and flower motif and I have always kept some sort of minimal stems in the pitcher.
The mirror above the table is antique and has wonderful old wavy glass.
Oh, the green of the table 
is leaf green Rustoleum spray paint
Next week I will bring Forsythia stems in for forcing. It was soggy outside today.
For now it is displaying valentine soaps and towels with beautiful camellia blossoms.
Of course cookbooks are still on the floor. That's for another day.

 A little Valentine decor landed on the sideboard as well.
 To insure one didn't mistake
 Valentine's Day for Christmas

I shopped the house for blue transferware and blue and white anything to add to the pink and red.
These items were scattered throughout every room in the house. Most were on top of the curios in the LR.

Many of you met "Goosey" here.
"Goosey" likes to be where the action is.
 Bob said "Where did we get all those blue and white plates." After I showed him the empty spots where they once resided he said "Oh!"
My collection isn't valuable, I don't think, but I like it.
I am most proud of the platter below!
 I won a gift certificate from Nancy's of
 "Nancy's Daily Dish" awesome transferware shop" 
English Transferware over at Etsy!
The giveaway was offered by Amy over at 
This is what I chose. It is awesome with a beautiful pastor scene of a wagon and farm workers.

Boy was I lucky!
 The rest of the plates were picked up here and there over a number of years. I really love them all. Of course I love anything blue.

 I particularly like these "Flying Ducks".

I liked the ladies on this one 
and the fact that it is square!


The Valentine plate was a sale item from T. J. Max and Goosey is showing off with the orbs and puffed hearts. 
Oh, did you see the wee bit of dried Hydrangea?
 Add a red Camellia in an Ansley bud vase
that blends with the bowl and pitcher
 A red candle on a vintage iron candlestick
and a peek at a vintage shaker box

And we have a
 "Hint of Valentine's Day In Savannah!"

Now that Bob has seen the "blue plates"
he wants them to stay on the sideboard.
Sweetheart, he just doesn't know how it works!
