FALLING LEAVES!

Leaves may be falling in your area
In Savannah we are pretending
Sure that are a few, very few, leaves on the ground.
Most are still green and we don't have the vibrant colors that appear in the northern states.
Sooooooo!
Here is my interpretation of Falling Leaves

The candlestick was a thrift find HERE!
Nothing new was purchased for this tablescape.
You might say it was like raking leaves.
Pull together what is there and pile it up!

Charger-Walmart last year. Flatware-Horchow sale
Suede Leaf Mat-Big Lots (launders beautifully)
 Everyday Dinnerware-Kmart ages ago
Salad Plate-Walmart. Doilies-Dollar Tree
 Soup/Fruit Bowl-Walmart
 Napkins-Macy's clearance last year.
Napkin Rings-thrifted HERE!

Natural Elements from the back porch.
This table is an Antique Pub/Inn table from England.
It is very narrow (they weren't interested in centerpieces back then) so, decorative elements have to be kept to a minimum and there is rarely room in the center of the table.
Leaf Dish-Old Time Pottery, Pinto Beans and Candle
already had.
The stack of books in the background
are waiting for just the right bookcase. I may have to build one.

FALL FRONT PORCH

Autumn ... Maybe Tomorrow!
The forecast is for cooler weather. Starting tomorrow and for the next week the temperatures are supposed to be in the mid 70's.
I have been doing a little digging in those boxes and came up with an old wreath. A little tweaking here and there, add a little this and that and you have a new/old free fall wreath.

Babs, I keep finding roosters I never knew I had. He's been hiding upstairs for a year or so. Funny, I never heard any crowing.
I have been seeing a lot of crows and blackbirds around blog land lately. A large one had landed on the screened porch, out back. I grabbed him by the neck and brought him, squawking, to the front. If he expects to eat he will have to work for his food. He is now the official greeter!
DID I EVER TELL YOU?
You hit a dog with one of my biscuits, you kill the dog!
WELL, I once threw some biscuits, out back, to feed the birds. Bob came in the room rolling with laughter. Upon going to the window, I see the crows dunking my biscuits in the birdbath (true story) . What an insult!!! This crow is gonna work for his biscuits, soggy or not.
The only thing I purchased for the porch was three potted mums from Sam's Club. I placed one in the cute pot above.
With those googlie eyes, I am not sure if Mr. Crow is watching over this mum, in the vintage cold bucket or  flirting with me.  Probably wants a biscuit.
I am using some faux pumpkins. It's too hot to put out real ones here, just yet.

Bye, for now!
I will be back with more "Fall" soon.
Tomorrow I will be working at the Botanical Garden's Fall plant sale. It is going to be a beautiful day.
Hope you enjoy your weekend!

I am partying with the neatest ladies. Now join up!

THRIFT STORE PUMPKINS?

Modern look pumpkin!
My daughter, Kim, picked up orange colored garments at GW and created some pumpkins for her Fall decor.
They were having a clothing sale, everything that fits in one bag for $2.00. She went through and bought all the orange.
The one above was made from a colorful scarf and is one of my favorites.
I think this one is a man's polo type shirt.
She sent these pics from her phone and they are varying sizes.
This appears to be a man's sport shirt.
Kim did tell me this one is very large!

I Think this one is a woman's dress.

She gathered the fabric, with a rubber band or decorative fabric scraps, around sticks for the stems. They are filled out with plastic bags.

I think these turned out great. What do you think.
Easy peasy, yes!

I will post an update when I see how she displays these.

Joining these great parties today, come along.

THRIFTY FALL CENTERPIECE

Free Centerpiece!!
"YOU CAN DO A LOT OF DECORATING WITH VERY LITTLE"

My Sweetie Brings me flowers every Wednesday!!
My Sweet Old Bob has been doing the grocery shopping
for many years. He took on the chore after I had back surgery.
He thought he did a better job than I and I never told him any different.
For a year or so I thought he was such a sweetie
and still romantic after 50 plus years (he truly is a sweetie).
One day I accompanied him on his Wednesday shopping trip.
The produce manager comes up to "Mr. Romantic" and says
"Mr. Bob don't forget to pick up "the little lady's" flowers today".
It seems the produce manager actually
GIVES him a bouquet of his choice each week.
My sweetie is a retired food broker and really chews the "fat"
with everyone each week. They apparently love his visits.
That particular week, the produce manager got the kiss, on the cheek, instead of
"Mr. Romantic".
So you see, I get flowers, sweet old Bob gets a bargain (and a kiss)
and the staff at the market enjoys hearing about the "golden olden days".
Everyone Wins!
I hope you enjoy the beautiful arrangement that results.

Cheap Fall Decorations

From Field to Table!
Some of you know that a couple of weeks ago I was visiting my two dear daughters. One lives in Illinois and the other lives in Tennessee.

While in Illinois we made some small decorations from NOTHING.

She lives in Southern Illinois and owns a small farm

She leases out the farmland

Is it too late to find a baseball field on the other side?
Kevin Costner here I Come!
Maybe Not! To late in the season!

Anyhoo! This is where we got some of our material!
When you get in there you can't hear anyone.
I don't know if it is just the time of year but it was spooky.
I got lost in the field and thought I'm  in "Children of the Corn".
You really can get lost.
Why do you think they build mazes in corn fields?

We fought the squirrels for every bit of trim.
I still have tooth marks on my hand.

Most everything came from the yard, the corn field or that
"Dang Squirrel's Mouth"
The silk leaves came from Dollar Tree.

How much corn could two girls shuck
If two girls could shuck corn?
Answer: A bushel and a peck or
A LOT!!

We made twenty plus
We gave most to family and friends
Of course we kept a few

These are the two that I kept.
I had to fight that girl for these!
You will see them again a little later

Hope you enjoyed our
