Tea For Margaret ~ Redux

Margaret is a Survivor!
This weekend, after a visit with my sweet friend Margaret, I decided to repost this tea setting again.

You see, since Margaret's knee replacement last year, she was in a serious auto accident. She was hit by a police cruiser participating in a car chase. I won't bother you about what I think about police chases. You can guess, I'm sure.

She had to have another knee replacement. The first replacement was destroyed in the auto accident.  That was in April. Just about the time she recovered  she fell and broke her foot. At last, she is up and about without assistance. We will be playing Bunco, at my house, this Monday. Margaret will be here!

I am so thankful she is feeling well. Love you Margaret!

Tea for Margaret

I am preparing, in advance, a "Tea for Two" for my sweet friend Margaret.
Margaret is a dear neighbor who had knee replacement surgery two weeks ago.
I might set up for her tea a little early. Yes, that is what I will do.  She won't be able come for tea right now but I will be ready for her.

You can get a sneak peek before she gets here.

This will be Margaret's first view.
I think she will love the vintage tablecloth. It is a favorite of mine.
The crochet napkins are a recent purchase (you can see them better in a different shot).

I had to scour the yard for a few late blooms. I placed them in this little gold sugar bowl. It is an odd piece but I think it works well for this little table. What do you think?

Perhaps we will have currant scones, lemon biscuits, clotted cream, jam and a little fruit. I will place the treats on this milk glass cake plate.  Does the cover make this a cloche?  Does that mean I can use it later for a Cloche Party?

I think she will love these vintage dessert plates. They have a beautiful gold border with flowers in the center.  I think the bouquet looks a little like my garden find. You will notice we have a gold theme.  That's because her friendship is GOLDEN!

Margaret likes green tea.  We will have green tea but perhaps she will like a cup of Earl Gray with pomegranate. Earlier this year, while touring Charleston Tea Plantation, we were told that the only difference in teas is the length of time the leaves are allowed to oxidize before drying. Green tea has no oxidization time.

The tea service is part of my Sunday BEST china.
I am using it because Margaret is the BEST!

We will be using beautiful sterling flatware with a 24 karat gold basket weave.
I think it goes will with the gold theme.

Now, I'll just wait for Margaret's arrival

Just in case you are wondering, Margaret is a real person. She will be coming for tea.
In the near future I hope!

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY
IN SAVANNAH, GA
IS MAGIC!!
and Granny's having a giveaway
HERE !!
I am not sure who let her in. I can see I will have to call security.
It is our Mardi Gras. The parade lasts hour upon hour.
The city fountains are flowing green, we're eating green grits and leprechauns are trolling the streets.
The hotels are booked a year in advance. It is best to have a relative or good friend to visit.
My two awesome daughters are visiting me for
the special week.
I will be back later with lots of pictures and a narrative of the BIG day.
Since you are here don't forget to sign up for my giveaway. HERE !!
I didn't get a chance to do a new tablescape this week but I would like to share a few pics of last year's tables.
I wasn't blogging then. These pics are just candids
I hosted my garden club's monthly meeting a couple of days before St Patrick's Day. Our club's name is
"The Heritage Garden Club".
Don't you think that's an appropriate name for the oldest city in Georgia?
Early arrivals
A great time was had by all, as is usual and customary.
We range in age from 30 to 95.
If you remember the Women's Bridge Club
in "Midnight in the Garden of Good Evil"
You have seen our garden club.
My dining room is not large so we had two tables. This is the kitchen table.

Enameled charger, white dinner plate - HomeGoods, Salad plate - HomeGoods and TJ,  Flatware - everyday, Green Boopie - my collection.
Dessert dishes, Green Boopie - My collection
One dear member is a 95 years old and "hot to trot". She has her own meeting in the midst of the rest of us. She speaks of triumphs and conquests of years gone by. Don't make eye contact or you will get flashed.
There is the sweet member who always gets lost driving to the meeting. She refuses to accept a ride, meet in a central location or follow. One particular member always goes out to find her and brings her along, in time for dessert.

Everyone started arriving before I got close ups of the dining room table.

We have our beloved "Seasonal Sally" (not her real name). She is our belle of the ball, always dressed to celebrate the holiday of the month. This lovely lady will knock your socks off.
I am not identifying anyone!

Then you have me and my cohorts. We watch it all, while giggling like school girls. We're ever thankful that we haven't gotten to that point, just yet. Of course we secretly wish we had the guts to emulate "Seasonal Sally".  Our pic was not publish worthy. LOL!
I sincerely hope you enjoyed joining our garden club meeting. You are welcome back anytime. Just bring along your sense of humor. You will need it!

As mentioned afore, I will have my lovely daughters down for the week leading up to the festivities. I will be reporting back about THEIR antics.
I am linking up to everyone I can think of so be sure to hop over to party with these gracious hostesses.

Now don't forget to sign up for my giveaway. HERE !!
