Christmas Past!

My sincerest thanks to all my dear friends and relatives who prayed for my sweet daughter Kim. She did very well with the surgery. We are so pleased that they didn't find anything they didn't already know…a congenital condition that contributed to the loss of the first kidney. No "C" word or disease of the kidney, for that we are so thankful.
A stent is offering relief now and a reevaluation in a month will determine a more permanent solution. So glad this phase is over and she has relief. Please continue to remember her in your prayers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will be decorating for Christmas the first week of December so I want to share some scenes from Christmas past. Some of you may have seen these pics and some were before bogging and the pictures are not so great. I hope you enjoy!
Welcome to our home
we're so glad to have you visit!
Remember, don't peek, keep your tinsel straight and dream of sugar plums…
SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN!
I truly hope you enjoyed reminiscing about Christmas Past!
I will be back soon with this year's decor.
This year will be our sweet A. J.'s first Christmas!
Hamming it up for the camera! Aren't those two teeth cute, she now has four.
She loves her Mama!
God's Christmas Decorations!
Most of you know I am not decorating for
CHRISTMAS
this year.
It has been rainy the last couple of days and I had not been
out to the front porch. Today, we were greeted with beautiful sunshine and an awesome surprise of God's nature in action.
 Even the Shamrock in the center of the pot is blooming.
These are a slightly different color. Still many buds to flower.
GOD IS GOOD!
I hope it's OK, Kathleen. These cacti
would make a wonderful centerpiece
if I WERE doing a table!
Savannah Banisters
My Decorating is very light this year.
We will not be celebrating Christmas
at my house this season.
We are celebrating
with my youngest daughter's family.
When I decorate my banisters, it takes me a full day.
Since the family is not coming here for Christmas
I opted not to decorate the banisters this year.
  I would still like to show you
how the banisters looked last year.
 The banisters are always decorated in
my trademark silver, white and often blue.
 The look changes and evolves each year, however
I use some of the same things each year
but I am also adding and subtracting as well.
I am sure you do the same.
Some of the pics are blurry.
I have since learned to take gazillions of pictures
in order to get enough to publish.
 There were lights in the garland
 but I didn't get pics at night.
Newbie then, certainly no expert now!
 After the tree in the living room,
the banisters are my favorite Christmas decor.
I usually do the banisters first
and dismantle them last.
 You can see a glimpse of the tree in the living room.
It is the only thing is the public rooms
that is not silver, white and blue. This tree started out many years ago as entirely gold. Now it is traditional
but it still has an abundance of gold decorations.
 You can't tell it here but the sheer ribbon
is snow flocked with a blue pine cone design.
One thing that hasn't changed
are the candles on the newel post.
A straw wreath is backed with heavy cardboard.
It is then attached to the banister with zip ties.
It is very sturdy and the glass cylinder
 fits perfectly inside the wreath.
The cylinder is partially filled with iridescent gems
and the candles are pushed into the gems.
The decor is inserted into the straw wreath.
The candles have held up, safely, through
many, many visitors.
EEEK!! Enter At Your Risk!!
Be Sure to enter the GIVEAWAY
I am sponsoring at Debbie's
~~~~~~~~~~
That time is approaching!!
I may be forced to go in there!

I'm not sure if this pic is blurred or
if it's just the time of night.
Do you have a fear of going "THERE"?
You know, the place
where you store the Christmas Decorations.
Do you have this phobia?
Our guests don't wear clothes. No place to hang them.
This is a walk-in closet in one of the guest rooms. Everything, in the boxes you see, goes on the Christmas tree in the living room. Scary isn't it?
I didn't take a pic of the other side. The outside wreaths are there.

Every box you see, here, holds Christmas Decor for the kitchen. There's more on the floor. It was messy. See that little elf door to the right? Well, there's more in there. That's Granny's attic.
Oooooooooh!
I got so panicked I decided to rest a bit.
You see, Kim and I have been working on our
and I have been overwhelmed.
~~~~~~
So, I decided to reminisce
ABOUT CHRISTMASES PAST!
One must first think about the
"Reason for the Season".
I give thanks for the precious gift of eternal life.
I think our Lord smiles at some of our frivolity.
At least I hope so!
I begin to remember.
The Kitchen Tree
 View of Mrs. Claus and a back side view of my vintage collection of Norman Rockwell ornaments.
These pictures were made from 2006 through 2010.
I wasn't expecting to place them on public view.
 OOPS! Lord I may be stretching it.
One of my favorite little fellows. Thrifted for $5.00.
In this picture, he is skating on the dining table.
This was also pre-blog days.
If you notice the cresent moon mirror over that door, it's just my sick humor.
That's the powder room!
I know! I gotta go back up the stairs to those CLOSETS!  Just not yet!
Wish I could figure out how to get a pic without the fan. Any suggestions?
Those candles are not leaning. It has something to do with the camera angle. I will use the deer, purchased from Z Gallerie several years age, again this year. They will just show up somewhere else.
Notice the glass cylinders. They are now on my
One more Peek before I turn out the light BECAUSE
not tonight, I have a headache!
Before we get too caught up in the season,
Let me wish each of my fabulous Blogger Friends
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
It's been a great year.
I am joining the following  parties. Won't you party with us.
