Just to set the record straight!
I am NOT a photojournalist, James Stewart or Alfred Hitchock.
Grace Kelly...maybe.
However, this is what I saw from my "Rear Window"
this morning.

to get the point and shoot. I told you I wasn't a photojournalist.
This fellow was oblivious to our spying eyes.
He was bound and determined to rid the area of every
worm, grub or termite.
Well I am here to tell you that you have an audience.
I am capturing your deadly deeds on camera.

That profile may be just good enough to turn you in. I did notice that you are keeping your back to us most of the time.
Just cuz you can't see me doesn't mean I can't see you!
Seems, he is leaving now.
Probably going to do some work in the garden.

This beautiful Pileated Woodpecker spent about thirty minutes in the natural area behind our home. We see them from time to time but their appearances are rarer than in the past. After I put my camera away he and a friend made a fly by appearance but left before I could retrieve my camera.

For those who had no idea what the reference to
"Rear Window" was about.
It was a 1954 black and white
American Movie Suspense Thriller
directed by Alfred Hitchcock
and starred James Stewart and Grace Kelly.

What a treat to see. I usually watch the pee wee's bathing in our bird bath each morning. If I go outside they don't move. They are getting used to me now. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful creature! I'm so glad that you shared the pictures. Such a treat to have him in your yard. We have a red headed wood pecker that makes an appearance at our bird feeder once in a while and I'm always so thrilled when he does. He is huge! In addition to his red head, his body is black and white. When I spot him, whatever I'm doing comes to a standstill so that I can admire him until he flies away.
ReplyDeleteThe woodpecker is beautiful...but I remember having a pesky one around our house that definitely did damage...just like the gorgeous deer...beautiful, yet they can be pesky creatures..but then again...we invaded their territory...so I will just be tolerant and enjoy their beauty....Rear Window?!!..What a classic...love that movie!!

ReplyDeleteYAY!..I'm delighted to see another post,love these photo's,this birdie is one of my fav's,they got to getting scarce as hen's teeth,but I think they are making a come back,kinda like our friend the gopher turtle an Indigo snake,these were all not to long ago disappearing FAST.So happy to see more and more lately.And you sweet Savannah Granny!!!

Back to my size 9/10 prom dress I bet it would be a size 6 today . I had never heard of a size zero or 2 or 4 back in the day either.
